Why clients return

Independent advice that reduces risk.

01

Right-fit delivery

We scope to your reality, matching effort and approach to what your program actually needs.

02

On time, on budget

Disciplined planning, change-order control, and clear gating keep timelines and costs from quietly drifting.

03

Built for repeat work

Most engagements lead to the next one. We optimize for a long-standing relationship, not a single invoice.

Government of Canada procurement

Pre-qualified and ready to contract.

Captiva Consulting holds pre-qualified supplier status under the federal supply arrangements most commonly used to engage professional services, so departments can contract through channels they already use.

What we do

Independent, client-side advisory.

Captiva Consulting works on your side of the table. We represent the client's interest through complex IT and ERP programs, never as the system integrator. ERP implementation is where that independence matters most, and where our record is sharpest. We have delivered multiple projects on time and on budget across both SaaS ERP and SAP for the Government of Canada.

  • 01

    Scope & SOW stewardship

We hold the line on scope, review change orders before they land, and keep the statement of work honest as the program evolves.

  • 02

    Division of labor framework

Clear boundaries between client and integrator, established early so responsibilities never fall through the gaps mid-build.

  • 03

    End-to-end testing & cutover readiness

We prepare your team for end-to-end testing, data validation, and a controlled go-live rather than a hopeful one.

  • 04

    Decision & risk support

An experienced counterpart to a seasoned SI, so first-time client decisions on configuration and the chart of accounts are made with eyes open.

  • 05

    Security assessment & authorization (SA&A)

  • 06

    Hypercare & transition

We plan the handover to steady-state operations and the train-the-trainer path that lets your people own the system after the SI leaves.

The same principle, applied broadly

Client-side thinking beyond ERP.

The independence that makes our ERP work effective applies just as well to other IT projects.

Since2005

Martin is the Principal Consultant at Captiva Consulting, where he represents organizations as the owner's advisor through complex IT and ERP programs. His focus is client-side professional services — supporting and managing implementations from the buyer's seat, independent of the system integrator delivering the work.

He has delivered multiple ERP projects on time and on budget for the Government of Canada, across both SaaS ERP and SAP. His value is the experienced counterpart a first-time client needs when sitting across from a seasoned integrator: someone who knows where programs drift, how scope erodes, and how to keep the engagement constructive without giving ground that matters.

How I work

Direct, responsive, and pragmatic. I set clear boundaries early, reduce friction for everyone at the table, and optimize for the long-standing relationship that tends to follow a well-run first engagement.

Field notes

Notes from the client's side of the table.
